How to adjust slat tension

Over time you might find that your shutter slats lose tension and begin to slowly close on their own – don't worry, this is completely normal and very simple to fix.

 

 

STEP 1:

Locate the tension screws on your shutter panel. There are two of these, located on the sides of the panel, as below.

STEP 2: 

Open the slats fully and grip one of them firmly to prevent the slats from moving.

STEP 3:

Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, adjust the tension by tightening to the right and loosening to the left. Use a quarter-turn and then check the level of tension.

STEP 4:

Repeat Step 3 until your slats are at the desired level of tension.
