Perfect Fit Measuring Guide
This guide is suitable for uPVC windows and uPVC doors only. It covers the unique method of measuring for no-drill, Perfect Fit shutter blinds. Take a look through our handy guide to ensure your measures are accurate.
What you’ll need:

Preparation
Each section of glass will require it's own shutter blind. For example, the window shown below would require you to order 2 shutter blinds. You can use our 'create similar' button from the basket to speed up the ordering process.
Perfect Fit shutter panels will clip directly onto your window frame. Before you start measuring, please check for obstructions on your window such as handles or vents. You'll need to have 25mm of clearance around the glass.

Step 1 - Measure the width
Measure from the inside edges of the rubber beading in 3 places to find the smallest size.
Do not include any of the rubber beading or rubber seals in your measurements.
You don't need to make any tolerance deductions to your measurements.
Step 2 - Measure the height
Measure from the inside edges of the rubber beading in 3 places to find the smallest size.

Step 3 - Measure the window rubber beading depth
Place a credit card over the corner of the frame and use a metal tape measure or ruler to measure from the glass to the edge of the card.
You are measuring the window bead depth in order to select a matching bracket size. The bracket sizes we offer are 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, 24mm, or 30mm.
If your window frame depth does not match one of these bracket sizes, we recommend choosing an alternative product as the Perfect Fit panels may not fit securely to your window.
Step 4 - Check the rubber beading
Check that the rubber beading does not overlap the glass by more than 6mm.
Optional step - Measure for handle cut outs
If your window has a handle, you'll need a handle cut out. You will be asked to specify both the location (left, right, top, bottom) and the cut-out depth when placing your order.
If the handle is on the left or right, measure from the bottom seal of the window to the centre of the open handle.
If the handle is on the top or bottom side of the window, take the measurement from the left seal to the centre of the open handle.
NB: Handle cutouts are only necessary for windows. They aren't required for handles on patio doors.
Optional step - Measure for midrails
A midrail is a fixed horizontal rail dividing the shutter blinds into two sections. It gives extra stability and brings more light control by allowing you to operate the top and bottom slats independently.
For shutter blinds 550mm and over in height you have the option to add a midrail. Shutter blinds over 1500mm in height must include a midrail to provide stability to the shutter.
To work out the position of your midrail, measure from the bottom of your window pane, up to where you want the middle of the midrail to sit. Note that a midrail is 50mm wide.
The midrail can be placed anywhere over 275mm from the bottom and at least 275mm from the top. Most people position it in the middle of the shutter, but you can move it closer to the top if you prefer.
