What are wooden shutters made of?
Our wooden shutters are made entirely of hardwood, right through to the core of the frame and every slat. No MDF, no composites, just solid wood. This means you can be sure of the strength and integrity of every component of your wooden shutters for windows and can sleep sound in the knowledge they’re built to last.
Do interior shutters block out light?
Our shutters are designed to deliver the ultimate calm and serenity to a space, both in terms of the look and feel, but also by reducing light and sound coming in, as well as adding another layer of insulation and noise reduction to your windows. Are wooden shutters easy to measure and fit?

All our plantation shutters come made-to-measure with pre-drilled holes. Simply fix the frame together using the provided bowties, position accordingly and screw it into position. It’s a bit like putting together flatpack furniture, with easy-to-follow shutter installation guides on our website.

Are wooden shutters okay for bathroom or kitchen windows?
Our hardwood shutters look great in any room, and kitchens and bathrooms are no exception so long as there’s no direct contact with water. The main benefit of choosing wood over ‘faux wood’ shutters is that they’re available in a far greater range of paints and stains. They’re also lighter and come with more design options, making them the most versatile choice, however composite faux wood shutters do offer a fully waterproof solution for more humid surroundings.
